The Banyan Tree is the national tree of India, and it is famed for its ability to spread out laterally from the original trunk, by using aerial drop-roots. These roots rise to other trunks and branches and are able to cover very large areas. Due to these characteristics, and its longevity, this tree is considered immortal and is an integral part of the myths and legends of India. Over the centuries, the Banyan Tree has become a focal point for village life, and food traders have set up businesses in the shade of the tree to sell traditional Indian food. Our aim is to carry on this tradition in Easingwold, and we hope you enjoy our authentic tastes of India.
We have worked extensively with trading standards to train our staff on Allergies. Please check out our article featured on the North Yorkshire County Council.
